Rimini

Rimini, on the Italian Adriatic coastline, is synonymous for many Italians with the summer beach holiday. While it has a history as a beach resort dating back to the 1800’s, it expanded dramatically during the 1950s and’60s alongside the Italian economic miracle – when factory workers found themselves with money in their pockets, and holiday time.

Rimini does offer excellent family beach holidays, due to its miles of sandy beaches, hundreds of hotels, and facilities, but it’s wrong to just view it as a cheap package holiday destination. The city has much more to offer, with significant Roman ruins, the local gastronomic traditions, and beautiful surrounding countryside.
