A glimpse into Ireland - videos

Good promo video for Ireland from Failte Ireland, featuring a beautiful soundtrack from James Vincent McMorrow – shame about the relentlessly ‘on message’ optimism handed down, no doubt, from Government spin-doctors.

An interesting video called 'Ireland Inspires', produced for Failte Ireland, Ireland's tourist board. Against a beautiful soundtrack (Dublin singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow singing a cover of Steve Winwood's Higher Love), we're given pictures, statistics and facts about Ireland. It's a shame that it's so obviously influenced by the current Irish Government and its relentlessly upbeat economic message - for example, in the midst of sport, heritage, and culture, we're given the fact that Ireland is the first country in the Euro-zone to succesfully exit a financial assistance program (a very optimistic view of Ireland's current economic woes).

Still, whatever about that, there's plenty of beautiful imagery, and facts about new tourist schemes like the Wild Atlantic Way, which launches this year, making this video worth watching. Take off the paddy-green tinted glasses though!
