Van der Vaart for Juventus in June?

Speculation that Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart would be moving to Juventus took on a more concrete aspect yesterday as he confirmed that he had declined an offer to extend his current contract with HSV. The offer reportedly included a generous doubling of salary.
Speaking with Italian journalists in Dubai (where HSV, along with various other European clubs including AC Milan, have their mid-winter training ground) Van der Vaart expressed enthusiasm for a transfer to Juventus, but stressed that no deal had been done thus far. He told reporters that he hoped club officials from HSV and Juventus would sit down and thrash out a deal which would allow him to start next season with the Turin club.
Juventus, currently placed third in Serie A have made no secret about their interest in Van der Vaart. Insiders suggest that Juventus will make few changes in their squad, given that the club is still reeling from the financial losses after the Calciopoli scandal saw them relegated for a season to Serie B.
